Anderson, S.C. – Anderson University men's tennis graduate student, Juan Cruz Moncada has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Teams (Men's Tennis) for District III, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early August.
Moncada was selected South Atlantic Conference Honorable Mention- Doubles and Second Team Singles. The native of Chaco, Argentina partnered with Pudney at the No. 1 position. The pair had an overall record of 5-5 and 5-4 in SAC play. Moncada also occupied the No. 1 position in singles action, holding a 9-4 overall record and 8-3 in the conference slate.
Moncada has maintained a 4.0 GPA in Business Administration.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
