AIKEN, S.C. - The 24th ranked Anderson men's tennis team outlasted No. 25 USC Aiken, 5-3, in non-conference play Friday afternoon at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex.

Anderson (3-2) swept the doubles action and took two matches on the singles' side to defeat the Pacers, who fell to 2-2 on the season.

The Trojan tandem of Stan Atema and Daniel Gonzalez won their third consecutive outing, 8-6, past the No. 14-ranked Aiken duo of Gregory Andrade and Bruno Orlandini, while Deni Mehagic and Krystof Gulbinovic edged USC Aiken's Ben Klaas and Josh Rees by an identical 8-6 count. Ilya Zakharov and Trey Halbauer teamed up to knock off Lucas Gobbi and Juan Guglielmeti, 9-7, at the No. 3 slot, giving AU a 3-0 lead heading into singles' play.

Mehagic won his second match of the day with a 6-0, 6-1 win past Ben Klaas at No. 2, while Loic Ambrose improved to 4-1 on the season with a straight-set 7-6, 6-3 win over Josh Rees at No. 6.

Anderson is quickly back on the courts, as the Trojans travel to Division I opponent Gardner-Webb for their fourth match in as many days. First-serve versus the Runnin' Bulldogs is slated 11 a.m.
