ROCK HILL, S.C. – Joao Martinho and Andres Osorio of the Anderson University men's soccer team have both been named to the 2022 All-South Atlantic Conference men's soccer third team, as announced by the league on Wednesday (Nov. 2).
Martinho, a graduate student from Torres Verdas, Portugal, earned third team honors after a great season anchoring the Anderson defense. Joao helped guide the team to three shutout victories, as he also scored three penalty kick goals.
Osorio, a graduate student from Cali, Colombia, earned third team honors after facilitating the offensive attack for the Trojans this season as he led the team in assists with four. Two of them came in the 3-1 win at Emory & Henry, one at Tusculum, and perhaps the most noteworthy assist came in the regular season finale as he connected with Mariano Carpena on a header off a free kick. For his career in the black and gold, Osorio totaled seven assists.
Anderson finished the regular season with a 5-7-3 record, including a 3-5-3 SAC clip and a ninth place finish in the standings.
