Men's Golf Tied for Eighth at Tusculum

GREENVILLE, Tenn. -- The Anderson men's golf team finds itself in tied for eighth following Saturday's opening-round action at the 17th annual Tusculum Invitational hosted at 6,733-yard Link Hills Country Club. Chase Epting carded a first-round 72 to pace the Trojans and is tied for 17th, while sophomore Ryan Booth notched an opening-round two-over 73 and is tied for 26th heading into Sunday's final round. Kenny Shockley posted a 74 and Won Jacob Yoon earned a 77 to garner a tie for 57th. Freshman Thomas Harper entered the clubhouse tied for 66th with a 78. This year's tournament field includes South Atlantic Conference members Brevard College, Catawba College, Lenoir-Rhyne University, Lincoln Memorial University and Mars Hill College, along with NCAA Division II teams: University of Findlay, Limestone College and Tiffin University. Other participants include: Spartanburg Methodist College, USC Lancaster, Tennessee Wesleyan College, Tri-County Technical College, Virginia Intermont College and Walters State College. Walters State won the inaugural Tusculum Invitational in 1994. Sunday's final round is slated to tee off at 8 a.m.
