Men’s Basketball Inks Christian Jeffords and Chance Prandy to National Letters of Intent

ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson University head men's basketball coach Jeff Brookman has announced that Christian Jeffords (Conway, S.C.) and Chance Prandy (Aiken, S.C.) have signed national letters of intent to play for the Trojans next season.

"I could not be more excited about our first two signees," said Brookman. "To go along with being great basketball players, both Christian and Chance are high character kids that will succeed both on and off the court here at Anderson University."

Jeffords is a 6-foot, 185-pound guard that helped lead Head Coach Mike Hopkins' Conway Tigers to a 19-9 record during the 2016-16 campaign, while pouring in 19 points per game and dishing out 4.5 assists per contest. He was named the 2015 Region VI-AAAA Player of the Year and also earned a spot on the AAAA South Carolina All-State Team, alongside current Trojan Randall Shaw. Jeffords was named the South Team's MVP in the 2015 North-South All-Star Game, while competing against Shaw and another future teammate, Carlos Dotson, who both saw action for the North squad.

Jeffords, who recently moved to Summerville, S.C., played last season for Coach Jeremy Ellis' Moravian Prep squad and competes for the Flight 22 AAU program, under the guidance of Coach Nathan Faulk. Jeffords is the son of Tripp and Leslie Jeffords.

"Christian is a highly skilled combo guard who can dribble, pass and shoot at a very high level," said Brookman. "His ability to score, make shots and create for others will be a huge asset to our team. He is also a very unselfish, hard- working and team-oriented basketball player that will have an immediate impact on our program both on and off the court."

Prandy, a 6-foot-6, 185-pound wing, helped lead Head Coach Will Lowther's South Aiken Thoroughbreds to an 18-6 record, while averaging 16.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game last season.

He earned All-Region V honors and was named to the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (SCBCA) All-State team, while earning a spot in the South Carolina-Georgia and North-South All-Star Games. Prandy was also named the Aiken Player of the Year by MaxPreps. He is the son of Michael and Stephanie Prandy.

Prandy also played AAU hops with Upward Stars SE, one of most competitive programs in the country.

"We are thrilled to add Chance to our 2016-17 roster," added Brookman. "Chance is a very skilled wing. His ability to dribble, pass, shoot and score at a high level will make him difficult to defend at our level. On top of his skill level, Chance also brings much-needed size, length and above-the-rim athleticism to our roster. Chance will be a very exciting player for AU fans to follow for the next four years."
