Shaw Named SAC Freshman of the Year; Bouton Earns All-Freshman Team Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. - On the eve of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament, the freshman duo of Randall Shaw and Jeremy Bouton have earned all-conference honors as announced by the league office, Thursday morning.

Following a stellar freshman campaign, Shaw garnered SAC Freshman of the Year honors, along with capturing Honorable Mention All-South Atlantic Conference accolades, with Bouton earning an All-Freshman Team nod.

Shaw led the Trojans and was the highest-scoring newcomer in the league this season with his 19.8 points per game average while ranking fifth overall in the SAC in scoring. The native of Greenville, S.C., drained 68 treys on the season, which placed him sixth in the conference and sank 94 free throws, which was good enough for 15th.

The 6-foot-3 guard began his collegiate career in impressive fashion by pouring in a career-high 31 points in Anderson's season-opening win over Armstrong State and posted double figures in the scoring column on 22 occasions, while reaching the 20-point plateau in 17 contests. Shaw connected on a season-best five 3-pointers three times and was second on the team with a 70.7 free throw accuracy (94-of-113).

Bouton saw action in all 28 games, while drawing a starting nod in 22 and averaged nearly 19 minutes per contest. The freshman averaged nearly four points per game and more than three rebounds, while netting a career-best 19 points in the Trojans' 11-point setback to then-21st ranked Queens University of Charlotte in early December.

The 6-foot-6 guard connected on eight 3-pointers in a three-game span in December and pulled down at least five rebounds in six games. Bouton corralled a career-high seven boards against the Royals.
