INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Anderson men's basketball team is ranked eighth in the Southeast Region in the latest NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings, as released Wednesday afternoon.
South Atlantic Conference leader Lincoln Memorial University dropped to third in the latest rankings, while Anderson is making its first appearance in the poll.
Lincoln Memorial is 23-2 overall and 15-2 in conference play.
Against Division II opponents, the Railsplitters are 18-2 and are
17-2 against in-region DII opponents.
Anderson is 17-10 overall. The Trojans are 16-9 against DII
opponents.
The regional rankings will be released weekly on Wednesdays
through March 2, 2011.
Eight teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the NCAA
Division II tournament. In the Southeast Region, the tournament
champions from the SAC, Peach Belt, and Conference Carolinas will
receive an automatic bid, with five more at-large selections.
Anderson closes out the regular season on Saturday at
Carson-Newman and is slated to host a first-round SAC Tournament
game on Wednesday, March 2, at 7 p.m., with the opponent yet to be
determined.
