Trull Named Second-Team Academic All-District

ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson University men's basketball junior guard Nick Trull has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District III men's basketball second-team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday afternoon.

The native of Charlotte, N.C., sports a 3.94 grade point average, while majoring in kinesiology and has been named to the Dean's List five times.

"Nick is an extremely well-rounded student-athlete," said Anderson head coach Jason Taylor. "I have never coached a harder worker on the court and that work ethic carries over into the classroom as well. We are extremely proud of Nick."

The 6-foot-2 junior has played in all 21 games this season and 53 contests over the past two seasons, averaging 9.3 points per game coming off the bench. He is fifth in scoring on a team with four players averaging double-figures and leads the team with his 89.4% free throw accuracy.

Trull, the lone representative from the South Atlantic Conference, is second on the team in 3-pointers on the season and has led the team in scoring on four occasions, while reached double-figures nine times.

In order to earn recognition, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution and are voted upon by CoSIDA members. CoSIDA District III includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Anderson returns home for a brief one-game homestand on Saturday when the Trojans entertain Mars Hill in the second game of a women's/men's doubleheader. Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m. at the Abney Athletic Center.
