RALEIGH, N.C. - Anderson track and field standout seniors Whitney Bishoff and Lauren Sloan competed at N. C. State's Raleigh Relays Friday and Saturday at NCSU's Derr Track.
Bishoff notched the 22nd -best overall time, and set a new school record of 16:53.04 in the 5000 meter run, while Sloan notched 18th in the shot put with a toss of 12.26 meters and placed 24th in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.98 meters. She also earned 29th in the discus throw with a distance of 34.75 meters.
Bishoff's time in the 5000 meter was the third-best in D-II in the nation as of Friday night, while Sloan's effort in the hammer throw was a season-best.
More than 2,000 collegiate and high school athletes, including
more than 80 colleges and universities, plus several dozen
prominent running clubs, participated in the annual event.
