Trojan Track and Field Continues Strong Spring in North Carolina

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Anderson University track and field teams continued their strong start to the indoor season with another stellar effort Saturday afternoon at the JDL Fast track facility in Winston-Salem.

For the women, senior Whitney Bishoff claimed second place in the one mile run with a time of 5:07.20, just less than a second out of the top spot, while freshman Jill Baxter continued her strong start to the season with a 10th-place finish in the high jump at 1.55 meters.

Senior Lauren Sloan qualified provisionallyby notching a second-place finish, with a toss of 13.43 meters in the shot put, finishing just behind Duke's Michelle Anumba.

Another newcomer, freshman Brooklyn Watkins posted a 12th-place finish in the pole vault, reaching a height of 2.90 meters.

On the men's side, junior Will Byars notched eighth place with a toss of 15.35 meters in the weight throw, with sophomore Parks Edwards garnering 12th in the 5000 meter run, crossing the line in 15:53.72.

Freshman Jonathan Chapman recorded a 15th-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 11.90 meters and junior Matt Shaffer posted a time of 4:23.29 to garner 15th in the one mile run and
