Emerald Coast Classic Washed out Midway Through Final Round; Women’s Golf Finishes Tied for Second

DESTIN, Fla. – The Emerald Coast Classic was halted midway through Tuesday's final round, with the Anderson women's golf team finishing in a tie for second after the results reverted to the end of Monday's second round.

Missouri – St. Louis hosted tournament, originally scheduled for 54 holes over three days, but shortened to 36 holes due to inclement weather. The event was on a par-71, 5,900 yard Baytowne Golf Club layout.

Nationally fourth-ranked Nova Southeastern won the team title by nine strokes over both the fifth-ranked Trojans and Henderson State. No. 12 Lee claimed fourth place, with 24th-ranked Central Missouri in the fifth spot. UMSL finished in sixth place, with Arkansas Tech claiming the seventh slot. Arkansas–Ft. Smith was eighth and UT Tyler finished ninth.

West Florida and Lindenwood shared 10th place, while North Georgia, Central Oklahoma, Harding, Oklahoma Baptist, Truman State and Rend Lake Community College rounded out the 17-team field.

Lee's Alex Naumovski (73-66=139) claimed individual medalist honors after carding a second-round, 5-under-par 66 in Tuesday's second round. Nova Southeastern's Hanna Ahlander (73-68=141) was two shots behind in second place. AU senior Kerington Lamb carded an even-par 142 after two rounds and finished in a tie for third place with Nova Southeastern's Ellen Ramstedt (69-73=142).

Junior Emma Charles, who competed as an individual, shared fifth place, alongside Lee's Lily Bloodworth.

Sophomore Jessica Rathbone finished in a three-way tie for 14th place, with senior Victoria Hall sharing 20th place, alongside the freshman tandem of Kennedy McGaha and Zoey Iglesias. Senior Anna Freeman rounded out the Trojan contingent with a share of 55th place.

Next up for the Trojans is a trip to the Bluegrass State for their first-ever appearance in the Findlay Spring Invite, March 21-22, at the University of Kentucky Big Blue course.

• AU has not finished lower than fourth in a tournament this year and owns the Patsy Rendleman title and runner-up finishes at both the South Region Preview and the Flagler Fall Slam.
