Women’s Golf in Second Place Following Opening Rounds of Limestone’s Low Tide Intercollegiate

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Paced by sophomore Jessica Rathbone and senior Kerington Lamb's two-round, 7-over-par 151s, the Anderson women's golf team is in second place following the first two rounds of the Low Tide Intercollegiate, Monday on a 6,100 yard, par-72 Dunes West Golf Club layout.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament is being hosted by nationally third-ranked Limestone.

"Our team got off to a slow start today," said Anderson Director of Golf Danny Neal. "The highlight of that round was Jess shooting a round of even-par 72. Conditions were difficult as the wind gusted up most of the day and most players shot a few shots higher than normal. The second round started with much promise as we got off to a much better start, but we ended up giving several shots back on the last few holes. Kerington, Kennedy, Anna and Zoey all improved on their first round score, as did Vic and Emma playing as individuals. After a pair of 304's, we are looking forward to competing tomorrow and playing more to our potential."

No. 3 Limestone holds a 20-stroke lead over the fifth-ranked Trojans, who are deadlocked in second place, alongside 18th-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne. Tiffin and Columbus are tied for fourth place, eight shots behind the Trojans and Bears. No. 17 Carson-Newman holds the sixth slot, with UNC Pembroke in seventh place entering Tuesday's final round. Limestone (B) is eighth, with North Georgia, Young Harris, Lander, Erskine and Davenport rounding out the 13-team field.

Lenoir-Rhyne's Megan Robb is on top of the individual leaderboard following a two-round, 3-under-par 141 and leads Limestone's Ebba Hellman (144) and Stina Wikstrom (145), who are in second place and third place, respectively.

Lamb is in a four-way tie for ninth alongside Rathbone, while senior Victoria Hall shares 15th place following a 9-over 153 on Monday. Freshman Kennedy McGaha and senior Anna Freeman each carded 10-over 154s and share 18th place, with junior Emma Charles in a tie for 35th place after posting a 15-over 159. Freshman Zoey Iglesias is tied for 40th place after a 16-over-par 160.

The third and final round is slated to get underway on Tuesday morning.
