Women's Golf Adds Eskew

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson head women's golf coach Danny Neal has announced the signing of Katie Eskew to a National Letter of Intent.

She was a region medalist in both 2008 and 2009 and earned all-region accolades following her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Eskew helped lead the Hurricanes to a third place finish at the state tournament in 2008 and 2009 and was selected as the Pickens-Oconee Junior Golf Association Player of the Year in 2009.

She was ranked 45th in the state by the South Carolina Junior Golf Association and notched a third-place finish at the SCJGA's Thomas D. Todd All Stars Championship after firing an 85-76. Eskew also claimed the runner-up spot in the 2009 Orange Jacket Classic Tournament held at the Anderson Country Club and qualified for the Blade Junior Classic, the Beth Daniel Junior Azalea and the Fall Challenge. Eskew is as accomplished in the classroom as she is on the links, earning a spot on the Honor Roll and the Principal's List, and was a member of the Beta Club in 2008 and 2009. She has also served as a Palmetto Girls State Delegate and was named Student of the Month and Hurricane Scholar-Student of the Month.
