Dembroski, Buyers and Booth Earn Honors

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson senior women's golfer Sophie Dembroski, along with teammate Laura Buyers and men's golfer Ryan Booth have been named to the 2010 Conference Carolinas' All-Conference Teams as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Dembroski, a senior from Gahanna, Ohio, was named first team after claiming individual medalist honors at the Dana Rader Intercollegiate hosted by Pfeiffer in Charlotte and recording another top-10 finish during 2009-10. She earned Conference Carolinas Golfer of the Month honors for March and also paced the Trojans at the Ralph Hargett Invitational, the Newberry Collegiate Invitational and Catawba's Patsy Patsy Rendleman Invitational.

Buyers, a sophomore from Aledo, Texas, earned third-team accolades after garnering a 20th place finish at the Dana Rader Intercollegiate, while finishing 33rd at the Ralph Hargett Invitational. But she may have saved the best for last after tying for fifth at last week's McAmis Memorial, hosted by Tusculum. Buyers began the day tied for 25th but sliced an impressive 10 strokes off her opening round to finish strong.

Booth was named to the men's second team following a season that saw the native of Homestead, Fla., notch four top-10 finishes, including two appearances in the top-five. He shot a final-round one-under par to tie for first at the Anderson University Invitational, claimed a fourth place finish at the Johnny Palmer Invitational, hosted by Pfeiffer, while tying for sixth at both the Hargett Intercollegiate and the Carolina Sands Invitational.
