YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - The Anderson University men's tennis team opened its fall slate with a 5-4 road win past Young Harris College, Sunday afternoon at the Young Harris Tennis Complex.
The Trojans rallied from a 3-0 deficit after Young Harris swept
the doubles action, with
AU's Stan Atema getting the Trojans on the scoreboard with a three
set, 6-2, 5-7, 6-1, win past the Mountain Lions' Joan Valls. Loic
Ambroise followed with a straight-set win over YHC's Gabriel
Oliveira at No. two and Abdoulaye Camara outlasted Tom Gibaud, 6-2,
7-5, at the No. three slot to even the match.
Young Harris reclaimed the edge with a three-set win at the No. four slot, but Anderson's Deni Mehagic defeated Keon Gottenbos, 6-1, 6-0, at No. five and Bryant Anglin knocked off Devin Hampton 6-3, 6-2, to give the Trojans the win.
The Trojans get back on the courts Friday, Sept. 23, at the ITA Individuals in Sumter, S.C.
