Trojans Finish Sixth In Queens Tournament

BLUFFTON, S.C. -- The Anderson University men's golf team shot a 301 in the final round to finish sixth in the Queens Invitational Tuesday at the Pinecrest Country Club. Lander won the team title with a 36-hole total of 581. Clayton State was second at 589, Barton was third at 596, Midwestern State was fourth at 597, and Wingate was fifth at 599. Clayton State's 292 was Tuesday's low round. Anderson finished the event with a total of 600. Billy Belair of Lander won the individual title with a total of 139 (67-72). Adam Sheriff of Anderson (70-72), Charlie Hoyle of Lander, Will Wilcox of Clayton State, and Chris Carvill of Belmont Abbey all tied for second at 142. Sheriff's 72 was Anderson's low round Tuesday. He was followed by Garland Smith 74, Ryan Booth 76, and Kenny Shockley 79.
