Men's Golf Team Finishes 13th At California Event

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. -- The Anderson University men's golf team slumped to a 321 in the final round and fell one spot in the final standings at the 56th annual Southern California Championship at the Marbella Country Club Tuesday. The Trojans finished in 13th place in the 14-team event with a 54-hole total of 942. Sonoma State shot a 292 in the final round to with the event with a total of 874. Cal State Bakersfield was second at 882, and Western New Mexico State was third at 892. Ryan Sprayberry's 80 was Anderson's lowest score of the third round. Adam Sheriff, who shot an 81 in the final round, was Anderson's medalist. He finished the tournament in a tie for 20th place at 225. Kyle Hopkins of Sonoma shot 211 to win the individual title. Bobby Dyer of Valdosta State was second at 214.
