ANDERSON, S.C. -- Danny Neal, director of instruction at the Eagle Zone Golf Improvement Center in Greenville, has been named head men's and women's golf coach at Anderson College, AC athletic director Bobby Beville announced Monday. Neal replaces Kate Burnett, who resigned after three years at AC to pursue other career opportunities. Neal earned a B.S. degree in physical education from Erskine College and an A.A. degree from Polk Community College. He is a Class A PGA Member, a Certified Master Teaching Professional, and a Certified Professional Club Fitter. Neal has been the director of instruction at the Eagle Zone since 1995. He was a nominee for the Carolinas PGA Section Teacher of the Year Award in 2001 and 2003. Prior to joining the staff at the Eagle Zone, Neal was a certified master club fitter and assembler with Slazenger Golf. He taught fellow professionals the club fitting system, conducted fittings, and was involved in all aspects of club assembly. Neal was the general manager and head golf professional at Carolina Springs Golf Club in Fountain Inn, S.C., from Jan. 1993 to Nov. 1994. Before taking the job at Carolina Springs, Neal was the first assistant professional at the Thornblade Club in Greer, S.C.
