CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Brad Eskierka shot a 2-under 70 and Kyle Owings shot a 1-under 71 to lead Anderson College to a 297 in the first round of the Bill Hill Memorial at the Golf Club at Westcott Plantation Monday. Anderson's 297 in soggy and rainy conditions is a season best and puts the Trojans in fifth place in the 12-team field. Kennesaw State is in first place at 288, and Barton and Cameron are tied for second at 290. Eskierka's 70 and Owing's 71 are the best two rounds by Anderson players this spring. The previous low was a 74 by Owings. Anderson's other two scores in the first round were Denton Moore with a 77, and Jon Hines with a 79. The second round is scheduled to be played on Tuesday.
