ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson men's basketball standouts Brandon Young and Kevis Cornwell continue to add postseason honors and accolades following a stellar record-setting season for the team.

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the Division II All-District teams and coaches late last week, recognizing 88 of the finest basketball players across America as voted on by the NABC.

Joining Young on the NABC's All-Southeast Region Team from Conference Carolinas were Mount Olive's Kendrick Easley, Daniel Bailey from Queens, Pfeiffer's Chris Woods and Coker's Mason Ambler. The first-team all-conference performer drained the game-winning jumper in the closing moments of the Trojans' exciting, 68-66, NCAA Tournament win past Catawba and averaged 12.5 points and 3.5 assists over the two-game span.

Young, a junior from Belmont, N.C., earned the honor after starting all 32 regular-season games for the Trojans. The 6-foot-2 guard led the team in scoring and assists and ranked fifth in the conference in assists and 11th in scoring. Following the regular season, he ranked 57th in the nation in steals per game and closed the regular season out with a streak of 18 consecutive double-figure scoring games and had at least one assist in 31 games this season.

Cornwell earned NCAA All-Southeast Regional Tournament accolades after helping lead the Trojans to their first-ever NCAA Tournament victory with a 68-66 win past Catawba by scoring six of his game-high 19 points during a 10-1 scoring outburst by the Trojans inside the final five minutes. The 6-foot-2 junior also shared rebounding honors with Trey Britton as each collected nine boards. The York, S.C., native led Anderson in scoring with 17 points in the semifinal setback to top-seeded Augusta State and averaged 18 points, six rebounds and four assists during Anderson's two-game tournament appearance. Joining Cornwell on the all-tournament team was: Fred Braithwaite, Augusta State Ben Madgen, Augusta State Fred Little, Montevallo Mark Plaza, Montevallo Anderson (24-8) won 10 of its last 12 games and posted the most wins since becoming a four-year institution in the mid-90s, while earning its first-ever bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Trojans also notched back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in eight seasons and coach Jason Taylor's squad returns four starters and more than 80 percent of its' explosive offense for the 2010-11 campaign.
