Lancaster and Doggett Named All-Conference

ANDERSON, S.C. -- A pair of juniors, Jamie Lancaster and Lindsay Doggett, have been named all-conference performers, as announced by the Conference Carolinas office Thursday afternoon. The duo helped lead the Trojans to a 21-12 record during the regular season and a No. four seed in this week's Conference Carolinas' tournament. AU won its quarterfinal round match, 3-1, past fifth-seeded Mount Olive Tuesday night at the Abney Center. Lancaster was named to the first team after starting 33 contests for the Trojans, earning conference Player of the Week honors three times, and was also named to the Wingate Classic All-Tournament team. She leads the conference and ranks seventh nationally in kills per set (4.35), and recorded match highs 22 times, while ranking fourth in the league in hitting percentage at the close of the season. The Fountain Inn, S.C., native currently leads the Trojans in kills and attack percentage and has led the team in kills 24 times. "Jamie is very deserving of the first team. She leads the conference in several categories both on offense and defense," Anderson head coach Craig Mosqueda said. "She is also an exceptional student." Doggett, a 5-foot-8 setter, was named to the third team after ranking third in the league by handing out 9.4 assists per contest. She leads the team in assists, is third in aces (.27/set) and is fourth in blocks (.23/set). Doggett has dished out 20-plus assists 23 times this season and 30-plus assists on 15 occasions, while recording a season-high 45 at Limestone. The Jacksonville, Ala., notched 12 double-doubles (assists/digs) on the season and posted 21 match highs in assists. "Lindsay has some of the best hands I have seen in my years of coaching volleyball and can set just about any ball," Mosqueda added. "There have been several times this year when I thought no one could set that ball, but she does. She is quick and has led our team on defense as well as offense on occasion." Anderson is riding a three-match win streak and has won seven of its last eight as the Trojans visit top-seeded Lees-McRae in the tourney semifinals on Friday.
