ANDERSON, S.C. – Rylie Sargent of the Anderson University volleyball team and Zoey Iglesias of the women's golf team have been selected as the Jimmy John's Athletes of the Week.
Sargent, a senior from Greer, S.C., was a huge part of volleyball's win over Wingate on Friday, September 22 in the Abney Athletic Center. She posted a team high 19 kills to help lead the Trojans to their win over the No. 19 team in the country. She also tallied seven kills earlier in the week, totaling 26 on the week.
Iglesias, a junior from Port St. Lucie, Fla., turned in a fifth-place finish in one of the most competitive fields of the year at the NCAA South Region Preview. She shot 72-74-72 over the two-day competition to help the Trojans finish tied for second as a team in the tournament as well.
Each week, two student-athletes are honored as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week for his or her performance in competition, in the classroom, or in the community.
