ANDERSON, S.C. – Aly Francis of the Women's Golf team and Carson Hobbs from the softball team have earned Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week honors.
Francis, a sophomore from Stockbridge, Ga., helped lead her team to their third-straight South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Championships as she picked up All-Tournament honors by finishing second place among the field. In one of the hardest course set-ups the Trojans have seen this season, she shot rounds of 72-72-75 to finish +6 on the Par-71 course, just one stroke off medalist honors.
Hobbs, a sophomore from Nicholson, Ga., pitched brilliantly for the Trojans in the circle this week. She picked up an upset win over No. 10 Wingate in the circle while also going 3-for-5 at the dish. She also picked up a win against Mars Hill, adding to her day with a 6-for-8 performance at the plate. Overall on the week she picked up a pair of wins while going 9-for-13 at bat.
