Lady Trojans In Fifth Place After The First Round

MONROE, N.C. - The Anderson University women's golf team is in fifth place after the first round of the Wingate Lady Bulldog Invitational Monday at the Stonebridge Golf Club. Pfeiffer is the leader after the first round of the eight-team event with a 317. Host Wingate is second at 329, Catawba is third at 331, Tusculum is fourth at 332, and Anderson is fifth at 352. Anderson was led by Carlie Eastman, who shot an 84 on the par-72, 5,804-yard Stonebridge course. Following Eastman for the Lady Trojans were Jenny Fretwell 87, Jenny Odle 88, and Erin May 93. Paige Haverty of Catawba shot a 1-over 73 to take the first-round individual lead. She is followed by two players from Pfeiffer - Britany Beltran 75 and Nikki Taggart 76. The second round will be played Tuesday morning.
