WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Anderson women's basketball team had its six-game win streak snapped as the Trojans dropped a 70-38 decision to 14th-ranked and undefeated Rollins College in opening-round action of the Rollins Holiday Classic Wednesday afternoon at Warden Arena.

The Trojans (6-3) shot a a season-low 29.5 percent from the field in their first game back on the hardwood following a 10-day break for the Christmas holidays, while Rollins improved to 11-0 on the season.

Anderson led twice early in the contest, the last time on a 3-pointer from Alexa Neal, before the Tars' Kristina Mingos connected on a trey of her own to give Rollins a lead it would not relinquish with 14:48 left in the first half.

A little more than two minutes later, Rollins' Kourtnie Berry scored eight unanswered points for the Tars, turning a four-point edge into a double-digit deficit for the Trojans.

Anderson climbed within 27-18 on a Maci Siniard free throw with 6:37 remaining in the opening half, but was unable to get any closer as Rollins closed out the frame with a 13-3 run to take a 40-21 halftime lead.

Rollins held a slight 30-29 advantage on the boards, while the AU defense forced 18 turnovers but committed 23 miscues of its own. The Tars, who have yet to play a true road contest, out-shot the Trojans, 53.1 percent to 29.5 percent on the afternoon.

Neal led the Trojans with 10 points and three assists, while teammate Ashley Abed chipped in seven points. Sophomores Siniard and Breonda Shannon shared game-high rebounding honors with five boards apiece.

Rollins' Berry led all scorers with 19 points off the bench, while Tars' guard Tera McDaniel handed out a game-high six assists.

The Trojans will look to get back in the win column on Thursday when they wrap up action in the Classic by squaring off against another Sunshine State Conference opponent - Florida Tech - at 2 p.m. in Warden Arena.
