Maxwell, Quartararo, and Hardy Named Jimmy John’s Athletes Of The Week

ANDERSON, S.C.Laken Maxwell of the Anderson University softball team, Brittney Quartararo of the women's track and field team and Lambdin Hardy of the men's track and field team have been selected as the Jimmy John's Athletes of the Week.

Maxwell, a senior from Bowdon, Ga. earned four wins on the week. Maxwell helped pitched a total of 15 innings allowing no runs while striking out 23 batters. In her start vs Tusculum, the reigning SAC Pitcher of the Week struck out the first 11 batters she faced finishing the game with 16. In her start vs Newberry, she pitched a no-hitter while adding four more strikeouts to her season total of 158.

A sophomore from Commerce, Ga., Hardy won the men's pole vault competition at the Gotta Run Invitational hosted at Southern Wesleyan University, with a 4.50-meter clearance. This mark ranks first in the South Atlantic Conference for the 2024 season. 

Quartararo, a senior from Port Jefferson Station, New York, ran a 2:19 800-meter race to win the Gotta Run Invitational at Southern Wesleyan University. This time puts her 4th overall in the conference this season.
