ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University softball lands in the No. 8 slot in this weeks NCAA D2 Regional Softball Rankings, released Wednesday afternoon.

Two other South Atlantic Conference schools were listed it the rankings, as Wingate garnered the top-spot while Lenoir-Rhyne occupies the fourth slot. The final ranking will be announced on Monday, May 6^th. The top eight teams will make up a regional field that will begin play on May 9^th.

Anderson is scheduled to host Lenoir-Rhyne in the SAC Championship series. The Black and Gold and the Bears will play a best 2-of-3 series to determine the SAC Tournament champion. The winner earns an automatic berth to the NCAA. First-pitch on Friday is slated for 2 pm.
