ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson softball was among two other South Atlantic Conference softball teams selected to participate in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional as announced this morning.

Wingate earned the top seed in the region and will host all three SAC teams. The Bulldogs are no surprise as the top seed in the Southeast Region. They finished the season with a 46-9 mark and a 22-2 record in conference play. They boast the league's Player of the Year in Savanna Brooks and the Coach of the Year in Jamie Stanclift.

Lenoir-Rhyne garnered the No. 4 seed and an automatic bid thanks to a SAC Tournament title. The Bears lost the first game of the SAC Tournament but rallied to win six in a row, all by one run, to claim the championship. They enter the tournament with a 45-14 record and will take on Lander in the First Round.

The Trojans are the No. 8 seed and will draw top-seeded Wingate in their opener. The Trojans advanced to the SAC Championship but dropped a pair to Lenoir-Rhyne to finish as the runner up. Laken Maxwell is the SAC Pitcher of the Year as well as the league's Elite 23 award winner.

The tournament starts Thursday at Wingate with the advancing team moving on to Super Regional play the following weekend.
