Four Trojans Earn Postseason All-SAC Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. –Anderson University men's tennis players Nicolas Ascarrunz, Juan Carracedo, Jeffrey Dayton and Ignacio Bidegain were recognized by the South Atlantic Conference, as Ascarrunz and Dayton were picked to the All-SAC First Team doubles, Bidegain to All-SAC First Team singles,, Carracedo and Ascarrunz were placed on the All-SAC Honorable Mention Team for singles play, announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Ascarrunz and Dayton paired up a few matches into the 2017 season becoming one of the best doubles tandems in the SAC. The Black and Gold duo posted a record of (14-4, 9-2 SAC) to help propel the Trojans to an 18-win regular season.

Ascarrunz also garnered All-SAC Honorable Mention honors for his play at the No. 2 flight in singles action. The native of Santa Cruz, Bolivia posted a season record of (16-6, 7-4 SAC) while holding a career record of (30-22, 14-14 SAC).

Bidegain, a freshman from Buenos Aires, Argentina played No. 1 singles for the Trojans. Bidegain tallied a final season record of (16-4, 7-3 SAC) on his way to All-SAC First Team honors.

Senior Carracedo has been an emotional leader for the Black and Gold during his entire career. At the No. 3 singles slot, Carracedo posted a 2017 record of (14-6, 8-3 SAC) while holding an impressive (45-29, 30-13 SAC) career record as a Trojan.

Anderson travels to Rock Hill, S.C. on Thursday to begin first round action of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament. The #4 seeded Trojans are set to square off against #5 Newberry. First serve is slated for 9 a.m. at the Rock Hill Tennis Center.
