AUGUSTA, Ga. - Freshman Mateo Rivas grabbed a singles win at the No. 3 position, but it was the lone point for Anderson University men's tennis, as the Trojans fell to Peach Belt Conference opponent GRU Augusta Friday afternoon at the Newman Tennis Center.

The loss drops AU below .500 for the season, falling to 4-5 on the year, while the Jaguars improve to an impressive 10-4. Also with the setback, the Trojans fall to 0-3 against teams from the PBC.

Rivas tallied a three-set 6-2, 3-6, 10-6 victory over GRU's Romain Brunie at the No. 3 position, as he improves his singles winning streak to three straight matches. Since moving from the No. 2 spot to No. 3, Rivas is 3-0 and has dropped just one set.

Sophomore Paul Michael Calhoun fell in three sets to Victor Guimaraes 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 at the No. 4 position, while the other three matches were decided in straight sets.

Anderson returns to the courts on Tuesday when it travels to conference newcomer, Queens. First serve from the Queen City is scheduled for 1 p.m.
