ROCK HILL, S.C. - Senior Daniel Gonzalez has been named the South Atlantic Conference men's tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
"Daniel is playing well," said Anderson head tennis coach Joey Eskridge. "He is working hard and doing what he is supposed to as a senior."
Gonzalez claimed a pair of victories in the Trojans' lone match
of the week to help lead AU to a 6-3 league win past Lenoir-Rhyne.
He defeated the Bears' Filip Dobrosavljevic in straight sets, 6-0,
6-1 at No. three singles and teamed with Danilo Faria at the No. 2
doubles slot to top the L-R tandem of Jordan Lawson and David
Richardson.
The native of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, is 2-1 in singles action on
the season.
Anderson gets back in action by visiting Tusculum on Friday.
First-serve versus the Pioneers is scheduled for 1 p.m.
