ANDERSON, S.C. -- Philip Pakebusch of Anderson University has been named the National ITA Rookie Player of the Year. Pakebusch, a sophomore from Hamburg, Germany, compiled a singles record of 17-3 and won 13 of his last 14 matches. Pakebusch, the Conference Carolinas Player of the Year, earned All-America honors by earning a No. 7 ranking in the final ITA singles poll. Pakebusch and doubles partner Renato Assuncao were ranked No. 6 in the final doubles poll and earned All-America honors. Pakebusch and Assuncao were 18-5 and won their final 10 matches. In the final team rankings, Anderson, the Conference Carolinas regular season and tournament champions, was ranked No. 16.
