No. 1 Lynn Survives Anderson Upset Bid

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- No. 1 Lynn rallied to win the No. 2 doubles match and then won a three-set match at No. 4 singles to pull out a 5-4 victory over No. 21 Anderson University Sunday afternoon. "Our guys played a very good match and we had several chances to win," said Anderson head coach Rodrigo da Silva. "After splitting the first two doubles matches, we were up 7-6 at No. 2 and serving for the match. But we lost 9-7 and fell behind 2-1." Lynn won two of the first three singles matches for a 4-2 lead, but Anderson did not give up the final point easily. The last three singles matches -- No. 4, No. 5, and No. 1 -- all lasted three sets. Anderson's biggest win in singles came at No. 1 where No. 29 Philip Pakebusch defeated No. 9 Julien Carsuzaa, 4-6, 7-6, 10-4. "I am very proud of the guys," da Silva said. Sarra, 7-6, 6-4, 10-6; Weisskopf (A) d. Joachim, 6-2, 6-2.
