Anderson Falls To No. 4 Pirates

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- The No. 4-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State men remained unbeaten on the season with a 7-2 victory over No. 21-ranked Anderson on Monday afternoon at the AASU Tennis Complex. The Pirates (8-0) won two of three doubles matches, then picked up five straight-set singles wins to clinch the match. Robert Jendelund picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles over Jan Schiebler to pace the Pirates. Rafael Array, Paul Bishop, Christian Bergh and Davor Zink all also recorded straight-set wins for the Pirates. Anderson's points came at the top singles and doubles spots as No. 29-ranked Philip Pakebusch defeated Tim Johanssen, 6-4, 7-6 (5), in singles and the duo of Pakebusch and Renato Assuncao edged Array and Johanssen, 8-6, in doubles. #4 Armstrong Atlantic State 7, #21 Anderson 2 Feb 25, 2008 at Savannah, Ga.
