Bobcats Defeat Anderson, 7-2

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- Georgia College and State University beat Anderson University 7-2 in a non-conference match Sunday afternoon. The Bobcats got off to a good start by winning two out of three doubles matches. GCSU's Rodrigo Yamauti and Marcelo Ferreira defeated Anderson's Philippe Magat and Andres Weisskopf, 8-3 at No. 1, and Brandon Lee and Renato Oliveira paired up for an 8-4 win at No. 2 over Raul Luna and Srikrishna Ramanathan. The Trojans won at No. 3 doubles as Carlos Sanches and Gustavo Carvalho defeated Mariano Cebrian and Melvin Smith, 8-3. In singles, Lee defeated Magat, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1, Yamauti held off Sanches 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 2, and Ferreira defeated Weisskopf 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3. Cebrian held on for a 6-3, 1-6, 7-5 win over Carvalho at No. 4 singles, and Oliveira defeated Ramanathan 7-5, 6-4 at No. 5. The Trojans picked up a point at No. 6 singles as Lucas Moraes defeated Smith 6-2, 4-6, 10-5. The loss drops the Anderson men to 13-4.
