Du Plooy Earns AstroTurf Player of the Week Honors for the Second Time

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University standout midfielder Brad Du Plooy has been named the South Atlantic Conference's men's soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Du Plooy returned to the Trojan lineup four matches ago after suffering a severe knee injury. The native of Johannesburg, South Africa scored two goals on the week giving him a total of five on the season.

Du Plooy's first goal came in the 76th minute against Queens to knot the score up 2-2 eventually sending the match into extra time with both teams settling for a draw. Du Plooy's second goal of the week happened in the 82nd minute putting the match away for a Senior Day, 2-0, victory over Mars Hill. With Du Plooy back in the line-up, the Black and Gold finished the season 3-1-1.

The AstroTurf SAC Player of the Week honor is Du Plooy's second of the season and only the second Anderson player to be named to the list since 2011.
