ANDERSON, S.C. -- North Georgia used a five unearned runs in the fourth inning to beat the Anderson University 16-4 in a non-conference game Thursday night at Anderson Memorial Stadium. North Georgia turned five Trojan errors into seven unearned runs. The victory was North Georgia's seventh straight to improve the Saints to 25-16. The loss drops Anderson to 16-34. North Georgia scored in the first inning when Craig Brisson walked and scored on a sacrifice fly to right by Rob Flanigan. The Saints scored again in the third inning on a Logan Sharett RBI single and a Flanigan RBI double to take a 3-0 lead. Anderson got on the scoreboard in the third when Patrick West tripled and scored on a Derek Hipp sacrifice fly to right to cut the lead to 3-1. But, North Georgia answered with five unearned runs in the fourth inning highlight by a two-run homer by Flanigan. Brission and Andre Airich both had doubles in the inning. North Georgia added four more runs in fifth inning on two doubles and a single. The big hit in the inning was a RBI double by Daniel Petitti. Anderson scored three runs in the bottom half of the fifth when Hipp tripled and scored when Alex Roberson reached on an error. Roberson scored on a double by Carson. Clint Neville followed with an RBI double that scored Carson to make it a 12-4 in favor of North Georgia. North Georgia scored an unearned run in the eighth and added three runs in the ninth on four singles and a Trojan error. Kaleb Davis took the loss for the Trojans, and Mark Thomas earned the win for North Georgia. Anderson was led offensively by Carson, who was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and by Hipp, who was 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. Flanigan led North Georgia by going 2-for-5 with five RBI with a double and a home run. Brission contributed with two hits in four at bats and scored three runs. Anderson will face Limestone College in the final Conference Carolinas series of the year starting Saturday at noon.
