ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson's track and field teams travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. this weekend (Feb. 24-25) to compete in the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Championships. The event will be streamed here and live results can be found here.
"We have prepared for this championship meet alll winter and are looking to put out hard work on display for th rest of the SAC to notice," said head coach Kevin Eagle. "Majority of our athletes have been trending all season to have outstanding performances this weekend. It's now time to put months of work together to do just that."
The 2023-24 regular season included many broken Anderson program records for the Trojans. Sophomore Elliot Dotson (Greenville, S.C.) holds the newest AU mile time at 4:04, while sophomore Emma Whitaker (Inman, S.C.) ran a 3:03 1000-meter program record. Junior Lacey Boozer (Simpsonville, S.C.) currently holds the record for the women's 400-meter (57.76s) and the women's 300-meter (41.13s). Freshman Rylie Jenkins (Loranger, La.) claimed the women's pole vault record at 3.56-meter, while sophomore Tyler Farris (Jefferson, Ga.) broke the AU heptathlon record with 4189 points. Both Trojan 4x400 teams also broke the standing school records this season, with the women's team (Boozer, Brianna Quartararo, Ally Macurda, Whitaker) running 3:54 and the men's team (Darrion Perry, Ian Macurda, Farris, Ben Molitor) running 3:24.
