Women's Golf In Eighth After First Round

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Belmont Abbey shot a 309 to take the lead after the first round of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational Monday. Anderson University shot a 334 and stands in eighth place in the 11-team field. Pfeiffer (317) is second followed by Newberry (322), North Carolina Pembroke (325), and Tusculum (327). Franziska Blum is the individual leader after the first round with a 1-over 73. Brenna Martens of Lenior-Rhyne and Kesley Babos are tied for second at 74. Anderson was led by Hayley Parks with an 80. Following Parks for AU were Sophie Dembroski 82, Anna Jenks 85, and Laura Buyers 87. The second round will be played Tuesday morning.
