Eight Trojans Named to USTFCCCA All-Region Team

NEW ORLEANS, LA. – The Anderson University men's and women's cross country teams combined to have eight athletes named to the USTFCCCA All-Region team, with four coming from each side. Four all-region athletes is a record for the men's program, and a tied record for the women, previously set in 2017.

Spain Vaughan, Elliot Dotson, Daniel Similton, and Ty Nelson were the four men's players earning All-Region honors, by finishing in the Top-25 at the NCAA Southeast Regional Meet on November 19th. For the women, Whitney Hanson, Jodi Ann Martin, Emily Golden, and Elise Matthews represented the Trojans. For the SAC, there were 18 all-region athletes on the women's side and 15 on the men.

"To have a record number of all-region athletes this year shows how much depth this program has and how far we have come over the years," said coach Kevin Eagle. "We had four men and four women named to the all-region team, and another four that just missed. I am most proud of the development of each of these runners as it has taken time to get to this place in terms of fitness. Our main objective is to continue this climb as a program and make sure this success continues holistically."

Earlier this week, head coach Kevin Eagle was named the USTFCCCA Women's Southeast Region Coach of the Year.

The NCAA National Championships are set for Friday, December 2nd in Seattle, Washington. The men's 10k will take place at 10:00 AM PT with the women's 6k following at 11:15 AM PT. More information can be found at autrojans.com as the meet approaches.
