Spain Vaughan Breaks 8K School Record at Royals XC Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Anderson University men's cross country team finished in seventh place with a total of 186 points, a time of 2:07.32, and an average individual time of 25:30 in the 8k at the Royals XC Challenge.

Spain Vaughan impressed once again, leading the Trojans at a pace of 24:34.1 to finish third individually and setting a new Anderson school record for the 8k. Freshman Elliot Dotson continued his excellent season by taking 33rd place with a time of 25:16.2. Jonathan Roberts just finished outside of the Top-50 at 25:44.3, with Ty Nelson close behind at 25:53.9.

Bryson Mace (26:03.6), Michael Burgess (26:11.3), Adam Trusty (26:42.9), David Williams (26:43.1), and Daniel Similton (27:00.8) were other notable finishers for the Trojans.

The Trojans will be back in action on October 22nd for the D-II Festival Year Showcase in Huntsville, Alabama. Coverage can be found on autrojans.com.
