Men’s Track Competes at North Carolina’s Gene Anderson Invitational

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Anderson University men's track and field team competed at North Carolina's Gene Anderson Invitational on Saturday at the Eddie Smith Field House.

Senior Josh Butler placed seventh in the 60 meter dash in a time of 7.19 and also claimed 23rd in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.29.

Sophomore Joshua Visi-Clark earned the 14th spot in the one mile run, with senior Ryne Welch finishing 20th in a time of 4:49.95. Junior Parks Edwards notched ninth with a time of 9:16.34 in the 3000 meter run, while senior Alex Pena crossed the line in 11th with a time of 9:21.02.

Senior Will Byars brought home fourth place in the weight throw (15.80 meters) and 11th in the shot put (12.27 meters), with Nathan Plank claiming ninth in the weight throw (14.03 meters) and 13th in the shot put (12.09 meters).

Anderson returns to action at the Clemson Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
