ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's tennis team is set to start their 2023-24 season with a trip upstate to take on USC Sumter. The Trojans and Fire Ants will be meeting for the third time in the last two seasons. AU has won those two previous meetings.

A WORD FROM COACH JOEY ESKRIDGE
"We're excited about starting the new year," said AU Head Coach Joey Eskridge. "It's with a new team– we have some returners but for the most part there's a lot of new faces. They're a great group of guys and they're working hard. They're doing the right things which is what we want to do with the program this year. Go Trojans!"
A LOOK BACK AT THE 2022-23 TROJANS
AU is coming off of a 14-5 campaign where they recorded a 9-3 conference record, 8-1 road record, and a SAC Quarterfinal appearance. The Trojans reached as high as No. 17 in the ITA National Rankings. In doubles, the Black and Gold secured 12 of 15 doubles points.
SCOUTING THE FIRE ANTS
USC Sumter is also opening their season with the match against AU. The Fire Ants recorded 5 wins a season ago, including 3 at the Palmetto Tennis Center. A high point of the season came in a 6-1 season-opening win over Conference Carolinas opponent Belmont Abbey.
