WILSON, N.C. -- The No. 20 Anderson College men's tennis team lost two CVAC road matches Friday and Saturday. The losses were the first for Anderson in conference play since 2001. The Trojans, three-time defending champions and the 2005 preseason favorite in the CVAC race, entered the spring portion of their schedule 56-3 in CVAC play. On Friday, Guillerme Serra, Felipe Olarte and Camilo Sabogal broke a 3-3 tie with singles victories at the Nos. 4, 5 and 6 flights to lead nationally 28th-ranked Mount Olive to a 6-3 over Anderson at the Walker Tennis Center. Mount Olive (2-4 overall, 1-0 CVAC) fell behind 2-1 after doubles play, but evened the match after Rafael Bustos' three-set win at No. 1 singles and Gabriel Garcia's straight-set win at No. 3 singles. Serra, Olarte and Sabogal all won their matches in straight sets. On Saturday, Robert Jenner of No. 33 Barton rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the second set to beat Anderson's Fredric Genberg 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 and clinch a 5-4 victory for the Bulldogs. Barton won No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 singles. Anderson is now 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the CVAC. AC Men's Tennis Season Statistics
