ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Trojans (1-1) are back at Spero Financial Field this Saturday for a noon game against Embry Riddle (0-1). Both teams enter the weekend coming off hard-fought losses to in-state rivals.
"Exciting week," said head coach Albert Mitchell. "We're ready to get back out and rebound!"
Anderson hosts the Eagles after falling 9-11 in last Saturday's home opener against North Greenville. After being tied at 4 at halftime, the Trojans took a three-goal lead over the Crusaders in the fourth quarter before NGU rebounded to score five goals in seven minutes to ultimately outlast AU.
In Embry-Riddle's opening game of the season, first-year head coach John Jez's squad dropped their contest against Flagler by a score of 8-12. Five players scored for the Eagles, but Flagler's 5-1 first quarter performance proved to be the difference.
The Trojans are undefeated in the series against Embry-Riddle, winning the inaugural matchup between the two at home in 2022, 10-4, followed by a 15-10 victory last season in Florida.
After Saturday, Anderson will travel to Florida for a non-conference game against Rollins on Feb. 24.
