ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson University men's lacrosse team open their home campaign this Saturday at 7pm against North Greenville.
"It's the holy war," said head coach Albert Mitchell, regarding the pending battle between the upstate foes this weekend.
Anderson enters the game 1-0 following a dominant performance over Young Harris last weekend in Georgia. The matchup resulted in a 20-5 Trojan victory with ten players contributing goals and seven tallying assists.
North Greenville faces Anderson after dropping their opening contest to South Atlantic Conference opponent, Catawba, 11-16. Following the first quarter, the Crusaders led the contest 4-3, but were ultimately unable to hold off the Indians.
The rival series between the Trojans and Crusaders sits level at 1-1 with Anderson winning 17-6 at home in 2022 and North Greenville claiming the 10-5 victory in Tigerville last season.
