ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson men's golf team will be looking to improve on its' 12th-place finish at the Cliffs Intercollegiate two weeks ago, as the Trojans prepare to wrap up their regular season at the Tennessee River Rumble, which will be hosted by Lincoln Memorial at the Tennessee National Golf Course in Louden, Tenn. on Monday and Tuesday
Anderson tied for 12th at the two-day event a year ago after
claiming ninth at the inaugural 2014 tourney. Forrest Fowler tied
for 44th last year, alongside David Wachter. Payton Whitlock earned
a share of 56th in 2015.
Paced by Fowler and freshman David Monroe's 31st-place finishes at
the Cliff's Intercollegiate, the Trojans finished 12th at the
two-day tournament. Whitlock finished 51st, while Wachter shared
the 64th spot and freshman Cole Jefferys finished the two-day
tournament in a tie for 68th.
Fowler, Jefferys, Wachter and Monroe have each fired rounds of
72 this season, while Grayson Bell posted a 73 at the Emmanuel
Invitational in September. All five golfers have notched top-10
finishes on the season, while Fowler paces the Trojans with a 77.50
stroke average
