Women’s Cross Country Finishes 12th Overall at Royals Challenge; Trojans Claim Eighth Place among NCAA DII Teams

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Paced by senior Abigail Bozarth's career-best time, the Anderson women's cross country team finished 12th overall and eighth among NCAA D-II teams at the ninth annual Royals Cross Country Challenge, Friday afternoon at McAlpine Creek Park.

Bozarth crossed the finish line in 27th place in a personal-best time of 18:08, while sophomore Olivia Evans finished in 60th place in a time of 18:45, with classmate Olivia Rish also notching a personal-best time of 18:55 and claiming 74th place. Junior Martha Coleman posted a time of 19:07 and crossed the line in 96th place.

Senior Maddie Buddenberg captured 107th place on the strength of a career- best time of 19:15, with freshman Kamryn Osterbind notching a season-best time of 19:24 and finishing 119th. Sophomore Hannah Beach ran a career-best time of 19:30 and finished in the 128th slot.

Anderson will get back on the course, Saturday Oct. 20, at the Rock Pre-National Meet, which will be hosted by Slippery Rock at the Bob O'Connor Golf Course at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh, Pa.
