PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Paced by senior Abigail Bozarth's 28th-place finish, the Anderson women's cross country team finished ninth at the Rock Pre-National meet, which was hosted by Slippery Rock, Saturday morning at the Bob O'Connor Golf Course at Schenley Park.
In a preview of the same course that will be used for the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championships on Dec. 1, Bozarth covered the 6K distance in a time of 23:33, while freshman Melea Sangl finished 55th after crossing the finish line in a time of 24:07. Sophomore Olivia Evans crossed the line in a time of 24:13 and claimed 61st place, with sophomore Olivia Rish taking home 79th place in a time of 24:46.
Junior Martha Coleman (24:55) and senior Allyson Malone (25:18) finished 90th and 108th, respectively, while sophomore Lydia Gambrell rounded out the Trojan contingent in 109th place in a time of 25:19.
Anderson will get back in action in two weeks, when the Trojans host the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Milliken Research Center in Spartanburg, S.C.
