Women’s Cross Country Finishes 33rd at NCAA National Championships

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Paced by senior Abigail Bozarth's 116th-place finish, the Anderson women's cross country team finished 33rd, Saturday afternoon at the NCAA National Championships, which were hosted by Slippery Rock University at the Bob O'Connor Golf Course at Schenley Park.

With four runners finishing in the top-10, Grand Valley State claimed the top spot, with the University of Mary claiming the runner-up spot. Adams State saw a pair of runners finish in the top-11 and finished third.

Grand Valley State's Sarah Berger won individual honors after covering the 6K distance in a time of 22:07.7, with Adam State's Eilish Flanagan crossing the finish line in second place in a time of 22:12.4.

Bozarth claimed the 116th spot in a time of 24:30.9, with sophomore Olivia Evans crossing the finish line in 147th place in a time of 24:56.6. Freshman Melea Sangl finished in the 173rd slot in a time of 25:23.0, while sophomore Olivia Rish claimed 198th in a time of 25:42.4.

Sophomore Lydia Gambrel (26:48.7) and senior Maddie Buddenberg (27:33.4) finished 208th and 226th, respectively. Senior Martha Coleman rounded out the Trojan contingent in 228th place in a time of 27:38.12.
